Ubatuba is a Brazilian city, located on the North Shore of the São Paulo State, in the Southeast of Brazil.The city lies near the Tropic of Capricorn.
It is Called the State Capital of Surf. You can found good waves for surfing, there is always a wave to play on !!!

The origin of the name comes from the Tupi words uyba(arrows or canoes) and tuba (many).
Ubatuba saw the first peace treaty of the Americas: The Treaty of Peace of Iperoig (Tratado de Paz de Iperoig), where the Portuguese made peace with the Tupinambás Tribe. Soon, the Portuguese broke the treaty, putting the Tupinambas to slavery.
The Tupinambas created the Tamoios Confederacy, and allied with the French Antartique Colony, fought the bitter Portuguese who eventually won.
Thanks to two Jesuit Priests, Father Anchieta and Nobrega, along with the Chief Cunhambebe,peace would be restored between Portuguese and Tupinambás.
